This book presents peer-reviewed articles from the 3rd International Conference on Dam Safety Management and Engineering (ICDSME 2025) Held on 4-7 Nov. at KL, in Malaysia. It addresses critical and emerging issues related to water resources, hydropower, and dam management. Authors and contributors are leading experts of international repute. The readership will include professionals from diverse disciplines and development sectors worldwide, such as civil engineers, economists, geographers, geoscientists, sociologists, lawyers, environmental scientists, and biologists. This series will be of direct relevance to universities, research institutions, private and public sector organizations, international bodies, and NGOs. The books will serve as standard references for professionals involved in water resources management, climate change adaptation, sustainable hydropower, dam safety, and integrated river basin management. Key themes covered include: Water Resources Management Challenges, Climate Change Adaptation, Sustainable Hydropower and Energy Transition, and Dam Safety and Reservoir Management. By addressing these critical topics, the series aims to advance knowledge, promote best practices, and support sustainable development in the water and energy sectors.

Dr. Lariyah Mohd Sidek is a professor at the Civil Engineering Department and Head of the Sustainable Technology and Environment Group (STEG) and Strategic Planning, at the Institute of Energy Infrastructure (IEI), UNITEN. She received her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Kyoto University, Japan. Currently, she is a president of Malaysian National Committee on Large Dams (MYCOLD), executive member of the Malaysian Hydrological Society (MHS) and executive member of Water Resources Technical Division, Institution of Engineers Malaysia.

Dr. Ali Najah Ahmed obtained his Ph.D. in civil engineering from the National University of Malaysia (UKM). Currently he is working as an associate professor at Sunway University in the Department of Civil Engineering. His research interests include the application of machine learning in water resources management.

Dr. Hidayah Basri is a senior lecturer at the Institute of Energy Infrastructure and Civil Engineering Department at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). Her background is in water engineering, focusing on reservoir inflow forecasting. She is actively involved in various international and national research grant in dam safety and flood evaluation. As a professional engineer, she is also involved with engineering consultancy work with private and government agencies. She holds a position as the secretary of the Malaysian National Committee on Large Dams (MYCOLD).

Mr. Tony Ting is a senior manager at the Sarawak Energy Berhad, handling the strategic planning and development of hydropower infrastructure in Sarawak. He has actively participated in various implementation phases of water supply and hydropower projects, with a particular focus on the dam and hydropower industry. He participated in over 20 major hydropower projects and 10 significant water supply projects, encompassing more than 55 different dams throughout his career. He holds a professional certification as a Professional Engineer with a Practising Certificate (PEPC) and is currently a member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), the Malaysian National Committee on Large Dams (MYCOLD), and the ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer.
