This book presents the select peer-reviewed proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Precision, Micro, Meso, and Nano Engineering (COPEN 2024). It discusses the latest research in the areas of advanced manufacturing and precision engineering. Various topics covered in this volume are advanced and conventional manufacturing processes, such as nanotechnology, smart manufacturing, robotics, advanced materials, machining and industrial engineering. The book is highly useful for researchers, engineers, and industry professionals alike.
Prof. B. B. Ahuja was the Director of the College of Engineering, Pune, and a Professor in the Department of Production Engineering and Industrial Management. He has to his credit over 130 technical published papers in national & international journals and conferences. He is credited with the establishment of CAD/CAM laboratory and indigenously developed FMS laboratory in the institute. He was actively involved in developing the 3D Printing lab and has worked on a major project in biomedical engineering for developing low-cost medical devices / implants which was sponsored by Rajiv Gandhi Science & Technology Commission Govt. of Maharashtra. He has worked on two major projects of DST and CSIR. His research has led to 14 patents being registered to his credit.
Dr. R. Balasubramaniam is involved in the area of precision manufacturing for the last three decades and was heading the precision engineering section of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, India. He earned his Ph.D. in the year 2000 and his M.Tech. in 1995, both from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. His area of expertise includes design and manufacturing of precision components and systems for various applications in nuclear industry, micro-machining and nano-finishing. He is a faculty in Homi Bhabha National Institute, a Deemed University of Department of Atomic Energy, and guides a number of students for their doctoral and master degrees. His academic contributions include more than 100 published articles including a book on Diamond Turning.
Dr. Jose Mathew is a full-time faculty member of Mechanical Engineering Department of National Institute of Technology from 1985, where he is currently a professor (HAG) of Mechanical Engineering Department. He has graduated from the University of Kerala in mechanical engineering, did post graduation from IIT Kanpur (1991) in mechanical engineering and Ph.D. from IIT Bombay (1999). He has published more than 100 research papers in reputed peer-reviewed international journals, more than 200 international conference papers, guided 10 Ph.D. and more than 70 M.Tech. thesis.
