Green Finance and Sustainable Development of Carbon-Intensive Industry in China
Ji Luo | Zhixi Gong
This book presents a groundbreaking, triple-framework analysis of how green finance catalyses the low-carbon transformation of China's carbon-intensive sectors. Moving beyond conventional analyses, it uniquely integrates the dimensions of low-carbon digitalization, the Ecological Civilization paradigm, and cutting-edge AI-driven analytical tools. The work rigorously investigates the dual core mechanisms—the Gold & Silver Mountains competition effect and the Green Mountains & Clear Waters endowment effect—that underpin financial innovation within the distinctive China Model. Employing a novel methodological synthesis of intelligent game theory, machine learning algorithms (e.g., neural networks, random forests), and advanced econometrics, the book provides robust empirical evidence on policy effectiveness and regional heterogeneous pathways. It fills a critical research gap by offering a systematic, mechanism-rich examination targeted at graduate students, researchers, and policymakers in sustainable finance, environmental economics, and Chinese political economy, who seek to understand the complex nexus of finance, technology, and policy in achieving net-zero industrial transitions.
