Technology & Engineering / Electrical

This book explores cutting-edge approaches in stroke rehabilitation, focusing on robot-assisted active training methods controlled by human intention. It examines techniques such as wearable hand rehabilitation robots, brain-controlled devices using electroencephalogram (EEG), and the integration of exoskeleton-assisted therapy with fingertip haptic stimulation. Featuring comprehensive analyses, theoretical foundations, and practical case studies, the book includes illustrative diagrams, experimental data, and innovative presentations to enhance understanding. Designed for researchers, clinicians, and engineers, it provides valuable insights into improving motor recovery outcomes and advancing rehabilitation technology, making it a pivotal resource for driving innovation in stroke rehabilitation.

Dr. Min Li is an Associate Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. She obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Agricultural Mechanization Engineering from Northwest A&F University in 2007 and 2010, respectively. She earned her Ph.D. in Robotics from King’s College London in 2014. Her research focuses on haptic feedback systems, rehabilitation robots, and soft robotics. Dr. Li has led multiple research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and has published over 80 papers in prestigious journals and conferences, including more than 20 SCI-indexed articles as the first author or corresponding author. She holds 11 patents and contributed to Chinese educational textbooks including "Intelligent Information Processing Methods" and "Rehabilitation Devices: From Design to Implementation"(the latter is part of the "Rehabilitation Science and Technology" series).

Dr. Bo He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation from Yanshan University in 2016. From 2016 to 2018, he pursued his Master's degree at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University. He continued his academic journey at the same institution from 2019 to 2024, earning a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on rehabilitation robots and human-robot interaction perception. His doctoral dissertation is titled "Design and Interaction perception Methods of a Bionic hand Exoskeleton with Enhanced Motor Stimulation.
