Technology & Engineering / Nanotechnology & MEMS

This handbook presents the basic concepts of nanofillers, their types, unique properties, including their structure, surface area, properties & real-time applications. The book discusses basics of nanofillers, their types, their structures, and properties as well as several applications. The chapters in this book cover latest  developments applications in the food industry, drug delivery, tissue technology, biosensors, electrically conductive polymers and insulators, green catalysis, and environmental remediation. The contents of these book will be useful to researchers, industry practitioners, and academics across disciplines of materials science, chemistry, biomedicine, industrial engineering and chemical engineering.

Prof. Shadpour Mallakpour, an Organic-Polymer Chemist, graduated from the Chemistry Department, University of Florida, USA, in 1984 under the supervision of Prof. G. B. Butler. He joined the Department of Chemistry, Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Iran, in 1986. He has published more than 820 research papers, reviews, and book chapters, and more than 430 conference papers and got more than 32 items of awards. The most important award was given to him for the selection of the first laureate on fundamental research, at the 2nd Khwarizmi International Award in 2008. He is in the list of Top 1% Scientist in Chemistry in ISI Essential Science Indicators since 2003. He was selected as an academic guest of the 59th Meeting of Nobel Prize Winners in Chemistry in Lindau, Germany, in 2009. He has presented several lectures as invited or keynote lecturer in various national and international conferences and universities. He was a member of organizing and scientific committees for many national and international conferences. In recent years he focused on the preparation and characterization of green, biocompatible, cost-effective, and bioactive polymer nanocomposites for the applications in the water remediation, food packaging, antibacterial uses, bone tissue engineering, and catalytic activities.
