Strategies and Concepts for Managing Apple Devices at Scale

Matt Jerome | Richard Purves

Computers / Programming / Mobile Devices

Apple devices are increasing in popularity within the Enterprise market, but information on the concepts of device management has been either scarce or scattered between personal blogs, Apple KB pages, vendor training courses and community interaction. This book is a guide on Apple management first principles through to leaving you ready to start managing devices.

We will take you through the process of setting up and registering your organization with Apple Business (or educational establishment with Apple School Manager). From there, we will show good practices for dealing with device updates and how Apple differs from the rest of the device vendors. There will be advice for choosing management systems, the use of managed apple accounts, software delivery and device configuration.

Managing Apple Devices in the Enterprise will be your guide as you learn how to integrate your business with Apple portals and retailers, learning the fundamentals of setting up management controls and the technologies used to make it work.

What You Will Learn:

  • Setting up the management backend and the fundamental concepts behind Apple device management
  • Discover the fundamental concepts on management technologies
  • Learn from advice given by two experienced practitioners in the Apple device management community
  • Use this as a stepping stone to improving your own knowledge and skills
