He is co-editor of Re-reading Levinas (1991), Deconstructive Subjectivities (1996), and Emmanuel Levinas: Basic Philosophical Writings (1996).

William R. Schroeder teaches Continental Philosophy at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He is author of Sartre and His Predecessors: The Self and the Other (1984). He has also written on Hegel Nietzsche, interpretive theory, freedom, and Continental ethics and is currently working on a survey of Continental philosophy for Blackwell Publishers.
