This is the first practical, ethical, and counselor-specific guidebook designed to help school-based mental health professionals integrate artificial intelligence into their daily work.

As AI rapidly transforms education, school counselors are left without a clear, accessible resource for navigating this new terrain. This book changes that. With a warm, confident tone and real-world applications, this guide empowers K–12 school counselors, social workers, and psychologists to utilize AI tools to enhance efficiency, boost student engagement, promote ethical use, and prepare students for the evolving workforce. It introduces powerful tools like ChatGPT, SchoolAI, Curipod, Canva, Book Creator, and Brisk, and demonstrates how they can be utilized to streamline planning, support Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and foster student voice. Rather than focusing on theory or policy, this book is grounded in the realities of counseling. Readers will find frameworks, conversation starters, classroom strategies, and tech tutorials that meet them where they are, whether they’re tech-nervous or ready to lead the way.

Designed for curious counselors who are ready to take action, this book provides school counselors and mental health professionals with an accessible, practical guide to step confidently into the AI conversation.
