The first dedicated reference on Southeast Asian karst landscapes
Southeast Asia contains some of Earth's largest and most complex karst formations, yet these landscapes have been surprisingly little documented. Karst and Caves of Southeast Asia, written by a team of experienced karst scientists and cave management specialists, systematically surveys these formations by country and region, covering both protected and non-protected areas while addressing their global relevance for karst science and conservation.
Part One presents country-by-country surveys of karst and cave formations across Southeast Asia. Part Two examines contemporary karst science and management, including historical and archaeological significance, touristic and economic importance, and sustainable management of protected areas. Spectacular photographs by well-known cave photographers illustrate formations throughout the region.
