Evidence-based guidance for integrating ceramic implants into clinical practice
Ceramic Dental Implants is the first comprehensive reference dedicated exclusively to ceramic dental implant systems, providing evidence-based guidance on the science, treatment planning, surgical placement, and restoration. The book connects biomaterials and biological principles with clinical workflows, helping clinicians incorporate ceramic implants into practice, and addresses the growing demand for metal-free implantology and patient-centered treatment options. Valuable for clinicians of all experience levels, it offers step-by-step guidance for case selection, treatment planning, system selection, implant placement, and prosthetic restoration.
The text combines scientific evidence with clinical guidance, covering key topics such as biocompatibility, aesthetics, tissue response, and patient-centered treatment planning. It also explores biological and systemic factors that influence implant therapy, helping clinicians understand ceramic implants within the context of patient health.
Readers will find:
- Comprehensive treatment workflows from diagnosis through definitive restoration, developed specifically for ceramic implant systems rather than adapted from titanium-based protocols
- Discussion of biological and systemic considerations that influence implant therapy, including biocompatibility, host response, and patient health
- Evidence-based strategies for case selection, treatment planning, and management of patient expectations regarding aesthetics, biocompatibility, and metal-free therapy
- Guidance on integrating ceramic implant therapy into practice and expanding treatment options to meet patient demand for biologically compatible alternatives
- Structured content suitable for self-directed study, residency training, and continuing education programs
Ceramic Dental Implants is a resource for implant dentists, prosthodontists, periodontists, oral surgeons, and restorative clinicians seeking to incorporate ceramic implants into their practices. It also serves as an educational resource for students, residents, faculty members, and continuing education programs, providing a structured, evidence-based framework.
