Daniel W. Bromley is Anderson-Bascom Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. He has been editor of the journal Land Economics since 1974. He is currently working in South Africa on a new enviroenment policy for the post-apartheid government and is conducting research in Russia on the emerging land market.
