Springer Tracts in Additive Manufacturing

Proceedings of CASICAM 2025

Zitouni Beidouri | Khalid Zarbane | Mohamed El Oumami

Technology & Engineering / Industrial Engineering

This book presents a collection of chapters that examine topology-optimization strategies for lightweight structures, AM process-simulation tools for predicting part quality, and a broad range of quality-control methodologies including defect detection, dimensional-accuracy assessment, and standardized testing procedures. It showcases applications of advanced data-analysis techniques and the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in process monitoring, quality control, and design optimization. The book also highlights hybrid manufacturing approaches that combine AM with conventional techniques, as well as contributions exploring digital-twin frameworks, IoT integration, and big-data analytics in the context of Industry 4.0. Together, these contributions offer readers a comprehensive overview of current research directions and practical innovations across the additive-manufacturing workflow.

Zitouni Beidouri is Mechanical Engineer graduated from the Mohammadia School of Engineers at Mohammed V University of Rabat, Morocco. He was awarded, in 2006, a Ph.D. in mechanics from the Mohammadia School of Engineers at Mohammed V University of Rabat, Morocco. He is currently Full Professor and Research Fellow in the Department of Innovation and Digital Entrepreneurship at the High School of Technology at the Hassan II University of Casablanca, Morocco. He is Vice-President of the “Association Marocaine de Fabrication Additive etd’IMpression 3D” (AMFAIM3D) (Moroccan Association of Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing). His current areas of interest include, apart from mechanics, additive manufacturing and 3D printing, maintenance, logistics, project management and quality. He has written a chapter in the Springer Handbook of Additive Manufacturing and is Co-Editor of the Springer Tracts in Additive Manufacturing CASICAM’22 proceeding book.

Khalid ZARBANE is Mechanical Engineering Professor at the Ecole Supérieure de Technologie, Hassan II University of Casablanca (Morocco). In 2009, he obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Poitiers (France). He is currently Head of the Dynamic Systems and Smart Factory (D2SF) team, Laboratory of Computer Science and Smart Systems (C3S), and President of the Moroccan Association of Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing (AMFAIM3D). Prof. Khalid ZARBANE is Co-Author of the Springer Handbook of Additive Manufacturing published in 2023. He is also Co-Editor of the Proceeding of Casablanca International Conference on Additive Manufacturing 2022 (CASICAM'22) published by Springer Tracts in additive manufacturing (Scopus Indexed). He has over 69 publications to his name, including 5 scientific chapters and 31 Scopus-indexed papers.

Mohamed EL OUMAMI is Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Ecole Supérieure de Technologie de Casablanca (ESTC), Hassan II University of Casablanca. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Lyon, France, in 1994. He is Member of the Advanced Research Laboratory in Industrial Engineering and Logistics (LARILE). His research interests focus on modeling and numerical simulation in additive manufacturing and fluid mechanics. He is also Member of the Moroccan Association of Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing (AMFAIM3D).
