Pharmaceutical Nanocarriers for Ocular Delivery

Bhupendra Prajapati | Devesh Kapoor

Medical / Pharmacology

This book explores cutting-edge nanotechnology applications in ophthalmic drug delivery. It delves into innovative nanocarrier systems that enhance drug bioavailability, improve therapeutic outcomes, and overcome conventional drug delivery limitations in ophthalmology. It covers a diverse range of nanocarriers, including nanoparticles, niosomes, nanoemulsions, liposomes, dendrimers, solid lipid nanoparticles, polymeric micelles, and nanostructured lipid carriers. The chapters examine the unique properties of these nanocarriers, their mechanisms of action, and their potential for revolutionizing ocular therapeutics. This book also highlights advanced strategies like nanowafers, cubosomes, and transfersomes, which further optimize ocular drug delivery. The intended audience includes pharmaceutical scientists and researchers working in drug delivery, ophthalmologists, graduate students specializing in nanomedicine, and professionals in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries developing novel ophthalmic formulations.
