Post-Experience Education is the trend towards lifelong, continued education. It includes Senior Leadership Apprenticeships, Open Programmes and Continuous Professional Development (CPD), Executive Education and MBAs. In this context, this two-volume work advances current scholarship around post-experience education and articulates its boundaries. Volume I focuses on theory and concepts and covers the history, research gaps as well as drivers and tensions within the subject, amongst other topics. Volume 2 focuses on the practice of post-experience education, exploring professional pathways, ethics, sociological barriers, and doctoral education, to name a few.

Taken together, these contributed volumes mark a sea change in our understanding of the topic in a field where no underlying theory exists. Across the chapters, authors offer valuable insights and a more nuanced conceptualisation of the subject.

Christian Harrison is Professor of Leadership and Enterprise in the Greater Manchester Business School of the University of Bolton. Harrison is the co-founder and Chair of African Studies at the British Academy of Management (BAM), Chair of the Leadership and Leadership Development Special Interest Group at BAM, co-chair of the Post-Experience Working Group and serves as Chair of the Academy for African Studies.

Efrosyni Konstantinou is Associate Professor in Strategic Management of Projects, Bartlett School of Construction and Project Management at the University College London. She is Chair of the Knowledge and Learning Special Interest Group and co-founder of the Post-Experience Working Group at the British Academy of Management, founder of the Grand Challenges Programmes Network and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Ian Stewart is Reader in Management Education in the Department of Civil Engineering and Management at the University of Manchester. He also teaches at Ecole d'Ingenieurs en Genie des Systemes Industriels, La Rochelle, WMG University of Warwick and Dauphine Paris Sciences et Lettres. He is co-chair of the Post-Experience Working Group at BAM and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
