Dr. Igor Krupa is the research professor and QAPCO Polymer chair at the Centre for Advanced Materials, Qatar University, Qatar. His research interest includes various aspects of polymer science and technology, particularly on polymeric blends and composites, electrically and thermally conductive composites, membranes and sorbents for water purification, phase change materials, sol-gel technology, and modifications of polymeric surfaces. As an industrial company chair, he has long-term experience with the industry’s cooperation, explicitly dealing with polymers’ technology and processing and chemical modifications of polymeric materials for various industrial applications. He is the author or co-author of 156 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, six chapters in books, and one patent. He has presented over 100 lectures at international conferences. His papers have been cited 7,000 times, having a Hirsch Index = 51 (SCOPUS).
Dr. Safna Nishad is a post-doctoral researcher at the Center for Advanced Materials at Qatar University, Qatar. Her expertise includes thermal energy storage and management using phase change materials (PCMs), focusing on innovative solutions for applications like batteries, solar panels, and greenhouses. With experience in PCM composites and colloidal transport through porous media, she has authored 14 international publications, two book chapters, and presented her findings at numerous global conferences. Her work bridges advanced materials research and practical energy solutions, contributing significantly to sustainable thermal technologies.
