Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital technologies in agricultural supply chains have significantly enhanced production efficiency and transparency in recent years.  Together, they can empower stakeholders across the supply chain to operate more efficiently, transparently, and intelligently, transforming traditional supply chains into more integrated and responsive networks. This two-volume research work makes a broad study of agritech and the impact of new technologies on food supply chains.

Including contributions from a global team of scholars, this first volume is focused on agritech, with chapters covering topics including data optimization, AI and machine learning, blockchain and agri-apps. It will be of great interest to researchers, scholars, and graduate students in the fields of agricultural science, innovation, and supply chain management.

Sneha Kumari is an Associate Professor at Symbiosis School of Economics, India. She is an Associate Researcher at Circular Economy and Territories for the European Chair of Excellence. She received the Scientific High-Level Visiting Fellowship from The French Institute in India, Embassy of France. Her primary interests are agri-operations, the agricultural supply chain, and the agricultural value chain.

V. G. Venkatesh, Full Professor at EM Normandie Business School, brings 25+ years of industry and academic experience. His research covers procurement, digitalization, and sustainability. He publishes widely and holds editorial roles at leading journals (ABDC-A category).

Jorge Hernández  is Full Professor at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (Chile), where he serves as Director of Research, Director of the PhD in Management, and Director of the Master in Supply Chain Management. He served as Project Director and Principal Investigator of the European Horizon 2020 RUC-APS project, leading a consortium of more than 150 researchers from 18 institutions across 10 countries, while also contributing to projects funded by UKRI, BBSRC and ESRC. 

Zakaria El Hathat is an Assistant Professor at Rabat Business School, International University of Rabat, Morocco.  He received the 2024 PhD Dissertation Award from the Center for Applied Research and Innovation in Supply Chain-Africa (CARISCA).
