Alexis Berg Rodríguez is Assistant Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) and Associate Research Fellow at the United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS), where he is affiliated with the Regions and Cities Governance Lab (Re-LAB). He holds a PhD in International Relations from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. His academic career has a strong international profile, including research appointments at the International Institute for the Sociology of Law (Spain), the Ibero-American Institute (Germany), the Chr. Michelsen Institute (Norway), and the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE, Mexico). He has also taught and delivered invited lectures at universities and research centres across Europe and Latin America. His research focuses on international relations, comparative regionalism, European Union-Latin America and Caribbean relations (EU-CELAC), European diplomacy, EU-Cuba relations, human rights, gender studies, and international cooperation. His work has contributed to advancing scholarly and policy debates on interregional governance and contemporary diplomacy. He currently coordinates the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module NEXUS-EUCELAC (EU-CELAC in a Complex Global World) and, together with Andrea Ribeiro Hoffmann, co-coordinates the international seminar The EU in a Complex Globalised World: Perspectives from International Relations at UC3M. These initiatives promote academic excellence and strengthen international cooperation between European and Latin American institutions. He is also an active member of several international academic networks, including the GRIDALE, the UC3M Research Group on Globalisation, Integration Processes and International Cooperation, and the Permanent Seminar on Gender and Migration (CEG-BUAP, Mexico).

Andrea Ribeiro Hoffmann is Associate Professor at the Institute of International Relations at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and a collaborator at the Federal University for Latin American Integration (UNILA). She holds a PhD in Political Science/International Relations from the University of Tübingen, Germany, and was a visiting scholar at the London School of Economics, Universidade de Erfurt,  Freie Universität Berlin, Peace Research Institute Frankfurt, the European Parliament Research Service and UNU-CRIS (Regions and Cities Governance Lab). She has coordinated and participates in several international research networks, including JMN EULAS (EU-Latin America Academic Synergies) and GRIDALE (Grupo de reflexión sobre intergración y desarollo en America Latina y Europa). Her research, teaching and publications focuses on Legitimacy and Democracy in International Politics, Global Governance, International Organizations, Multilateralism, Comparative Regionalism, and Interregionalism, particularly between Latin America and the Caribbean and Europe.
