This peer-reviewed edited volume presents original and up-to-date contributions that build on a sustained scholarly dialogue developed through a series of international conferences on peace and education held between 2019 and 2026. These meetings brought together scholars from different countries, disciplines, intellectual traditions, and cultural backgrounds, fostering continued reflection on peace and the role of education in addressing violence, injustice, and social division.

The book is structured into three thematic sections – Peace, Dignity, and Transformation – reflecting the philosophical, pedagogical, and social dimensions of peacebuilding. Its twenty-two chapters address such themes as the ethical and anthropological foundations of peace, intercultural dialogue, inclusive education, social trust, resilience, ecological responsibility, Nonviolent Communication, community engagement, and narrative agency. The volume offers a uniquely international and interdisciplinary combination of theoretical insights and practical perspectives for researchers, university teachers and students, educators, school leaders, and practitioners engaged in peace studies, pedagogy, inclusive education, community development, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, social rehabilitation, and environmental education.

Monika Wolińska, PhD, is Assistant Professor in Special Pedagogy at Mazovian University in Płock and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Computer Science. Her research focuses on the social reintegration of marginalised groups, including former prisoners and care-leavers, and on the role of education in building sustainable peace.

Zbigniew Babicki, PhD, DSc (Habil.), is Associate Professor of Social Pedagogy, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences, Deputy Director of the Institute of Pedagogy, and Head of the Department of Social Pedagogy at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. His research focuses on peace education, the pedagogy of dialogue, and social inclusion, with particular interest in values-based and intercultural approaches to education in pluralistic societies.

Marcin Klimski, PhD, is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Pedagogy in the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. His research focuses on global education, environmental education, sustainable development, and peace education, with particular attention to relationships between human beings and the natural environment.
