Berte Bøe,is aConsultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in complex shoulder and knee surgery. She is Head of the Arthroscopy Section at Oslo University Hospital. Dr. Bøe earned her PhD in orthopaedics from the University of Oslo in 2012 and has since authored numerous scientific papers in clinical research, as well as several book chapters.She is a sought-after speaker and has been invited to present at both national and international meetings, contributing as a faculty member on topics related to both shoulder and knee surgery.Dr. Bøe currently serves as the 1st Vice President of ESSKA and is the Past President of the Norwegian Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow. She is an Associate Editor of JISAKOS and serves on the Editorial Boards of AJSM, KSSTA, the AJSM Electronic Media Board, The HIVE and the Video Journal of Sports Medicine. Additionally, she is an active member of three ISAKOS Committees and a committee member of SECEC.Dr. Nuno Sampaio Gomes is a Consultant at Hospital da Luz and the Clinical Director of Orthopedics at the Military Hospital in Porto, Portugal. After graduating from the University of Porto Medical School in 1996, he completed his general medical training at Hospital de S. João and in Macau, China. He then joined the Portuguese Army and completed his residency in Orthopedics at Hospital de Sto. António in Porto. He has a lifelong dedication to shoulder surgery, evident since his early residency years. He has pursued clinical and research fellowships in Portugal, Spain, and France, including receiving a SOFCOT award. He has been actively involved in promoting and educating about shoulder surgery in Portugal and abroad. He is currently the Vice-Chairman of ESA and is a member of the boards of the Shoulder Sections of the Portuguese Orthopedics Society and ESSKA. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters, receiving awards from medical societies.Dr. Frank Martetschläger is Head of the German Center for Shoulder Surgery at the ATOS Clinic in Munich. Specializing in disorders and complex problems of the shoulder and elbow, he previously worked at the Department of Orthopedic Sports Medicine at the Technical University of Munich as a board-certified specialist in orthopedics and trauma surgery. During his residency, he spent a year at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, CO, USA as a clinical and research fellow. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed scientific articles,book chapters, and a book on Shoulder Surgery.Currently, he serves as the Vice Chairman of the “Shoulder Instability Committee for the German Speaking Society for Arthroscopy and Joint Surgery (AGA)”, Vice Chairman of the “Committee for Guidelines and Assessment” for the German Shoulder and Elbow Society (DVSE), and as the Education Chairman for the European Shoulder Associates (ESA-ESSKA).Dr. Roman Brzóska works in the Orthopedic and Traumatology Department at St. Luke’s Clinique. He graduated from the Silesian Medical University and obtained a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy from Jagiellonian University Krakow. His PhD thesis focused on the evaluation of the results of rotator cuff tear treatment after arthroscopic reconstruction. Dr. Brzóska has held various roles at St. Luke’s Hospital, including Head of the Upper Limb Department since 2010 and, since 2020, Head of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Department. He has chaired 5 International Orthopedic Symposiums, organized shoulder live-surgery transmissions, and conducted over 10 International Cadaver Lab Courses in shoulder arthroscopy. He has also organized more than 40 Basic and Advanced Courses in shoulder arthroscopy. He has been a member of the ESA-ESSKA Board since 2014, serving as Vice Chairman from 2014 to 2016 and as Chairman from 2016 to 2018. He is the author of several peer-reviewed scientific articles and has edited/co-edited 4 books along with contributing to many book chapters.
