Rethinking Waste in Europe
From Management to Prevention for Just and Sustainable Futures
Federico Venturini | Andrea Guaran
Technology & Engineering / Environmental / Waste Management
This edited volume addresses the urgent and multifaceted challenges posed by contemporary waste systems, with a specific focus on European regions. As waste production continues to increase, this book advocates for a shift in perspective—from waste as a technical problem to be managed, to waste as a social, political, and ecological opportunity for transformation. The volume brings together diverse contributions exploring innovative governance, participatory approaches, cultural shifts, grassroots initiatives, and socio-ecological frameworks.
