Emotion Dysregulation

An Evidence-based Approach for Clinical Psychiatrists

Michele Fornaro | Chiara Di Lorenzo

Medical / Psychiatry / General

The book presents a comprehensive exploration of affective temperaments and emotion dysregulation. The volume sheds light on the connections between emotional dysregulation, cyclothymia, atypical depression, and borderline personality disorders, uncovering the core elements that define these conditions. Special topics such as substance use disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, circadian rhythms, suicidality, eating disorders, obesity, and the link with psychotic disorders among children and adolescents are thoroughly analyzed.

Offering evidence-based treatment approaches, the book equips clinical psychiatrists with valuable insights to effectively care for highly sensitive patients, addressing optimal pharmacotherapy and the role of neuromodulation, as well as psychotherapy and treatment resistance.

With contributions from leading experts in the field, the volume aims to provide essential information, precise references, and up-to-date guidance. Therefore, it will serve as a valuable tool for residents and clinical psychiatrists.
