The book offers a futuristic vision with respect to sustainable and intelligent solutions in computing and communication to help develop a greener digital environment. It presents a comprehensive compendium of models, algorithms, concepts, and methodologies that are essential for the development of energy-efficient, scalable, and environmentally responsible smart systems. In the age of digital revolution, balancing technological development with sustainability is crucial. The challenges for a sustainable world can be found in this proposed volume that offers the rational and efficient computing and communication solutions that enhance development of the new systems that reduce energy consumption, utilize the available resources efficiently, and reduce the impact on the environment. Delving from green artificial intelligence, low-power Internet of Things (IoT) and energy-aware 5G/6G networks to secure edge-cloud infrastructures, blockchain-enabled sustainability, and intelligent software engineering, this book presents a stimulating mix of theory and applications. The book consists of selected high quality papers presented in International Conference on Sustainable Smart Computing and Communications (ICSSCC 2026) which will be held at MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) on March 13-14, 2026. All submissions have been peer-reviewed for quality, originality, and relevance to the global need of sustainable digital ecosystems. One of the book’s major themes is on how intelligent computing technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and cyber-physical systems, can be further developed and applied to contribute to ecological sustainability. The book also examines how intelligent city infrastructures, energy saving cloud platforms and privacy-friendly cyber security models can help in achieving sustainable development goals such as carbon emission reductions, efficient resources utilization, digital equality as well as eco-conservation. By contextualizing smart technologies around questions of sustainability, the book seeks to engage with a fundamental problem of our time: How to produce technological innovation without exhausting the natural environment, or generating larger digital carbon footprints. And it reduces the distance between research and application, going beyond the merely interesting to the academically whack and socially ridiculous. This book is meant for wide range of audience from undergraduate and postgraduate students to researchers, academician, engineers, data scientists and technologists in the field of sustainable computing and communication systems design and development. It will also be an invaluable resource to policy makers, urban planners and industry leaders looking to usher in a new era of sustainable digital infrastructure and next generation smart systems.
