Fundamental Anatomy for Physiotherapists
Jaime Ruiz-Tovar | Carlos Carpintero-Rubio
This book is designed to be an essential resource for both students pursuing a degree in Physiotherapy and practicing physiotherapists seeking a reliable reference.
Physiotherapists need a deep understanding of the musculoskeletal system. This book emphasizes the detailed anatomy of structures most relevant to physiotherapy, providing a comprehensive guide to functional alterations and pathologies. The book is divided into six key sections: The first section includes an introduction to anatomy, osteology, joints, and myology; the three following sections are dedicated to the musculoskeletal system covering the trunk, upper limb, and lower limb, detailing joints, muscles, and the peripheral nervous system; the fifth section focuses on the nervous system, and the last section covers splanchnology, addressing the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems, as well as the muscles of the perineum and pelvic floor.
By correlating anatomical knowledge with potential clinical conditions, this book facilitates a practical and didactic approach to learning, making it an invaluable tool for physiotherapy students and professionals.
