Sustainable corrosion protection technologies for modern industrial engineering challenges
Strict environmental regulations have made traditional corrosion prevention methods increasingly untenable, driving demand for green inhibitive materials and modern engineering techniques. Corrosion Engineering in Industry, edited by a team of corrosion scientists and materials engineers based at Khalifa University and King Fahd University, presents well-established research alongside rapidly emerging advancements in sustainable corrosion protection engineering and discusses future research directions for academia and industry.
The book addresses corrosion formation prevention, management, control, and protection using smart materials across industry-specific contexts. It examines environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors, green corrosion prevention strategies, and the sustainable integration of protective technologies. Case studies, policy insights, and economic analyses demonstrate practical feasibility for large-scale implementation, while an interdisciplinary perspective spans chemistry, engineering, economics, and environmental science.
Key topics also include:
Corrosion Engineering in Industry serves engineers, researchers, and industrial practitioners who require authoritative guidance on sustainable corrosion protection. By integrating chemistry, engineering, economics, and environmental science, this reference equips professionals with the interdisciplinary knowledge needed to implement modern corrosion prevention strategies that satisfy both performance requirements and environmental regulations.
