Diabetes and depression are among the most prevalent and disabling disorders worldwide, frequently co-occurring and significantly worsening health outcomes and quality of life. Their comorbidity represents a major and growing global public health challenge.
This handbook presents findings from the largest-ever international collaborative programme of research and action examining the simultaneous presence, course, and outcomes of diabetes and depression across 16 countries. Drawing on a robust multicentric evidence base, the volume offers a comprehensive and integrated understanding of the bidirectional relationship between these conditions.
Edited by internationally renowned experts and featuring contributions from leading researchers across continents, the book brings together epidemiological, clinical, and health systems perspectives. It serves as an authoritative reference for researchers, clinicians, postgraduate students, and policymakers in psychiatry, medicine, endocrinology, public health, and related disciplines.
