Pseudo-Predictor Feedback for Time-Delay Systems

Technology & Engineering / Electrical

This book proposes a new control method called pseudo-predictor feedback to stabilize time-delay systems. The pseudo-predictor feedback controllers are finite dimensions and are thus easy to implement, which is applicable to control systems with both state and input delays, where the input delay can be larger than the state delay. The time delays can be arbitrarily large yet bounded delays, and moreover, time delays, system matrices and gain matrices in the systems can be both constant and time-varying. The problems solved in this book are in both continuous-time setting and discrete-time setting.

Bin Zhou is a Professor of the Department of Control Science and Engineering at the Harbin Institute of Technology. He received the Bachelor’s degree, the Master’s degree and the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Control Science and Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China in 2004, 2006 and 2010, respectively. His current research interests include time delay systems, time-varying systems, nonlinear control, multi-agent systems, and control applications in astronautic engineering. He is a reviewer for American Mathematical Review and is an active reviewer for many journals. He received the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award in 2012 from the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Ministry of Education of P.R. China, and was granted the China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists on 2021. He is a member of the IFAC Technical Committees on Linear Control Systems, Nonlinear Control Systems, and Aerospace. He is currently on the Conference Editorial Board of the IEEE Control Systems Society, and an Associate Editor of Automatica, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Systems & Control Letters, IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics: Systems, European Journal of Control, IET Control Theory & Applications, and Asian Journal of Control.
