Geriatric Dermatology for Indian Skin Types
An Illustrated Guide
Surekha Viggeswarpu | Renu George
Medical / Dermatology
This book is conceptualized to enlighten postgraduates and general practitioners to diagnose and manage dermatological conditions affecting skin, nails, hair, and mucosae in older persons of color. Information on conditions affecting these people is sparse. This book hopes to fill this inadequacy by providing concise and precise descriptions of common dermatological conditions accompanied by good-quality photographs, broad differential diagnosis, focused evaluation, and management. Simple algorithms are used to stress the protocols for management. Features such as red flags alert the physician to alterations in clinical manifestations in the immunosuppressed and the danger signs that require inpatient/intensive care management. Inputs from the geriatricians include drug-drug interactions and drug-dose modifications in the older age group. The book is divided into forty chapters, which are authored by experienced dermatologists, geriatricians, and others with rich experience in their chosen areas of expertise. This is a comprehensive must-have book for all who deal with older persons.
