This book presents select proceedings from the Second International Conference on Innovations in Smart and Sustainable Infrastructure (ISSI 2.0), held at Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Gandhinagar, from 28–30 August 2025, highlighting advancements in infrastructure development across three volumes. Volume 1 presents research on structural innovations, transportation systems, and pavement engineering, focusing on material science, structural design, and transport network optimization. Volume 2 covers water resources, environmental engineering, and geotechnical innovations, addressing hydrological modeling, sustainable water management, and soil stability. Volume 3 explores smart cities, urban planning, and disaster resilience, emphasizing the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and climate-resilient solutions in addressing urbanization and environmental challenges. This comprehensive compilation provides valuable insights for researchers, academicians, and industry professionals, offering practical strategies and emerging technologies to foster sustainable infrastructure and urban development.

Dr. Dhruvesh Patel is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), formerly known as PDPU, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, specializing in Water Resources Management, in 2011 and subsequently completed a Visiting Research Fellowship at the University of Bristol, UK. With over 16 years of experience spanning academia, consultancy, and research, Dr. Patel's areas of expertise include flood risk assessment, flood hazard mapping, flood mitigation strategies, and water resources management. He has authored more than 40 research papers published in high-impact journals and has presented over 75 papers at national and international conferences.

Dr. Dawei Han is a Professor of Hydroinformatics in the School of Civil, Aerospace and Design Engineering at the University of Bristol, UK. He holds a Ph.D. (1991), M.Sc. (1984), and B.Eng. (1982). His research focuses on hydrological modelling, real-time flood forecasting, flood risk assessment, climate change impacts, water pollution, and natural hazards. Prof. Han has been involved in projects addressing weather radar rainfall, numerical weather prediction for flood risk, downscaling global circulation models for climate change, water quality observation and modelling.

Dr. Pranab Mohapatra is a Professor of the Civil Engineering Department at IIT Gandhinagar. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from IIT Kanpur, along with a Master's in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering. His expertise lies in hydraulics and water resources engineering, with a focus on sustainable water management, hydrological modeling, and water distribution systems.

Dr. Shobhit Chaturvedi is an Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU). He holds a Ph.D. in Sustainable Built Environment from IIT Roorkee (2023), an M.Tech. in Infrastructure Design & Management from IIT Kharagpur (2016), and a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering (2014).
