Subhasish Das | Biswabandhu Chatterjee | Arijit Acharjya

Technology & Engineering / Civil / General

This book is incorporated with literatures available from SEES2025 conference.  From the literatures, it is given insights about the future aspects of water resource engineering like groundwater depletion, surface water groundwater interaction and other solutions of futuristic problems. The conventional methods of building structures are replaced by new technologies and materials. This book gives proper guideline of cost-effective methods. Due to the rapid growth of transportation sector pavements are made up of new recyclable materials. World is now shifted to green energy and ecologically friendly material usage. Computer applications are now advanced in today’s market. It is very much pertinent to discuss about the possibilities of computer application to make all infrastructure automated saving time and money.

After corona virus affected the world use of automobile has been enhanced. New technologies are coming up for making automobile. Alternate fuel consumption is also another aspect of automobile engineering.

So the aim of the book is to discuss about all the technologies and methods of various trades as world is shifted to interdisciplinary studies. This book discusses about present problems and current technologies to combat them. But maximum emphasis has to be given on the anticipated engineering problems that people may face and possible solutions of it to minimize the difficulties in future.

Dr. Subhasish Das is an associate professor and a joint director of School of Water Resources Engineering Jadavpur University Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He has done B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University with first class degree.  He has done M.E. in School of Water Resources Engineering, Jadavpur University with first class first. He has done Ph.D. degree in engineering from Jadavpur University. His thesis topic was Study of the Impact of Sediment Transport Dynamics on Clear Water Scour. He has 20 years of teaching experience. Under his guidance Research Guidance at Ph.D. level (awarded) and at M.E. level (awarded) are 1 scholar (solely) plus 10 scholars (jointly) and 53 scholars (solely) plus 74 scholars (jointly), respectively. He has 142 numbers of journal papers, 32 international book chapters, 75 conference papers. He has SCI/SCIE + ESCI indexed journal papers are 103(84+19).

Dr. Biswabandhu Chatterjee is an early-career academician and researcher in Environmental Engineering, currently serving as Assistant Professor (Level 10) in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at C.V. Raman Global University (CGU), Odisha. His academic foundation includes a B.Tech in Civil Engineering (2012) from the Birbhum Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET), Suri (affiliated to the erstwhile West Bengal University of Technology), and an M.E. in Civil Engineering with specialization in Environmental Engineering (2014) from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur. He completed his Ph.D. (Engineering) from IIEST Shibpur in 2021, following full-time doctoral research between 2015 and 2020.

Dr. Chatterjee’s professional journey spans teaching, research, and academic administration. He began his career as an Assistant Professor at BIET Suri and subsequently – post Ph.D. – served as a Research Scientist (2022) in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay. He has also held faculty position (2023-2024) at Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Institute of Technology and Sports Complex in Dum Dum, before joining CGU Odisha. Over the years, he has mentored undergraduate and postgraduate students with a strong emphasis on conceptual clarity, analytical thinking, and practical problem-solving.
His research specialization lies in waste management and advanced wastewater treatment. He has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications in reputed national and international journals, conference proceedings, and edited volumes. An accomplished reviewer, he has reviewed over 150 technical manuscripts for more than 30 international SCI(E)-indexed journals, reflecting his active engagement with the global research community. His current research at CGU focuses on the sustainable valorization of agricultural residues and the organic fraction of municipal solid waste into biochar for partial substitution of virgin construction materials in concrete manufacturing.
Dr. Chatterjee has also participated in numerous professional development programs and workshops in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), remote sensing, structural engineering, and accreditation processes such as NAAC and NBA, contributing to institutional quality enhancement initiatives.
As an editor, he brings a balanced blend of academic rigor, research depth, and pedagogical insight. He is committed to maintaining high scholarly standards, emphasizing clarity, methodological soundness, and academic integrity. Through his editorial stewardship, Dr. Chatterjee seeks to foster meaningful scientific discourse and promote impactful contributions in engineering and applied sciences.
