This edited volume investigates how India’s transformation as an economic market and political power, shapes its global perspective, particularly about its engagement with strategically significant regions like the Baltic states. By employing comparative frameworks between India and the Baltic, the volume aims to clarify both shared and divergent experiences regarding border dynamics, regional pressures from assertive powers, and the navigation of global alliances. It offers a multidisciplinary platform, addressing economics, international relations, culture, and ethnography, to explore how India's socio-political changes and global rise relate to the Baltic Sea region.

It brings together scholars and people involved in policymaking from India, the Baltic and other parts of the world to examine the opportunities and challenges in deepening Indo-Baltic cooperation across security, economics, and culture.

Kikee Doma Bhutia is a PostDoc fellow at Centre for Buddhist and South Asian Studies at Ghent University Belgium.

Dr. Amit Ranjan is a Research Fellow at the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore.

Dr. Elo Süld is the Head of Asia Center at the University of Tartu and an Associate Professor of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies.

Dr. Andrey Makarychev is Professor of Regional Political Studies at the University of Tartu.
