This book highlights the growing impact of artificial intelligence in addressing real-world challenges. The chapters explore topics such as wearable mechatronic sensing for ergonomic risk assessment in healthcare, mechatronic robotic phenotyping and machine learning in plant breeding, mechatronic sensor networks for air quality prediction, hybrid metaheuristic optimization for cloud-connected mechatronic and cyber-physical task scheduling, mechatronic sensor-driven anomaly detection for carbon credit fraud, sentiment analysis for mechatronic human–machine interaction, and mechatronic, automation-ready drug discovery. Although these contributions span diverse disciplines, they share a common focus on applying intelligent computing to the sensing, decision-making, and optimization problems that increasingly define modern mechatronic and engineering systems.
Dr. Akshat Agrawal obtained his Ph.D. from GGSIPU, Delhi. He is currently working as Associate Professor at computer science and engineering, JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur. His primary research interests include artificial intelligence, deep learning, artificial neural networks, speech processing, and image processing.
Dr. Aydin Azizi holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering–mechatronics, an M.Sc. in mechatronics, and a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering. Certified as Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Official Instructor for the Siemens Mechatronic Certification Program (SMSCP), and Editor-in-Chief of the book series Emerging Trends in Mechatronics published by Springer Nature Group, he currently serves as Senior Lecturer and Academic Partnership Liaison Manager at Oxford Brookes University. His current research focuses on investigating and developing novel techniques to model, control, and optimize complex systems, with expertise in control and automation, AI, and simulation techniques.
