This open access book offers a comprehensive examination of international schools, serving as a vital resource for academics, policymakers, and education professionals engaged with global education systems. By integrating theoretical insights with real-world practices, it provides a grounded understanding of the international schooling today.
Structured in three key sections: Policy and Practice, Governance and Finance, and Leadership and Human Capital, it explores essential topics such as curriculum models, global citizenship, teacher mobility, and financial sustainability.
It begins with a contextual overview of international schools, tracing their evolution and typologies, and unpacks global influences, key institutional actors, and emerging trends with a blend of historical context and current data. The discussion then deepens into policy dimensions, exploring governance challenges, community engagement, and intercultural education within politically varied contexts.
