This handbook provides technical guidance to help construction machinery users fully understand and correctly select piling machinery equipment, and concrete machinery and mortar machinery equipment. It can also be used for engineering and technical personnel when designing new equipment, and studied by teachers and students at colleges and universities. Weather in the Piling Machinery part or in the Concrete Machinery and Mortar Machinery part, the content of the book involves comprehensive and systematical introduce of the classification, characteristics, working principles, technical performance parameters, corresponding technical standards, and equipment selection criteria. In addition, it focuses on the application of practices for safe use, commonly encountered problems, and maintenance aspects, helping operators to correctly and safely use related machinery equipment.
After spending 15 years as an educated youth and fac-tory worker, Professor Qinghua He earned a postgradu-ate degree in Mining Machinery from Central South University (then known as Central South University of Technology) through self-study in 1980. Upon gradua-tion, he remained at the university as a faculty member in the field of engineering equipment. In 1988 and 1991, he was successively promoted to associate professor and full professor through exceptional advancement in rec-ognition of his contributions.
Professor He has long dedicated himself to scientific research in the area of engineering equipment and has done a lot of pioneering work across a wide spectrum of endeavors, including theoretical research, technological invention, engineering design, industrial application of research outcomes, and engineering innovation manage-ment. He has led major national scientific research ini-tiatives such as the National 863 Program and the National Key R&D Program. In 1999, to better promote the industrialization of scientific research achievements, He founded Sunward Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., building upon his patented invention—the hydraulic static pile driver. He established new theoretical frame-works for underground engineering equipment, includ-ing piling machinery, and developed core equipment technologies such as static pressure pile installation, rotary cutting drilling, and impact rock penetration. As a result, Professor He has developed the world’s most comprehensive and technologically advanced suite of underground engineering equipment.
Professor He has won the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Prize) and six Provincial/Ministerial First Prizes as the lead contribu-tor, along with the National Invention Award (Third Prize) as a major contributor. His intellectual property portfolio includes 110 invention patents (21 of which are PCT patents) and five China Patent Excellence Awards. In addition to four monographs, he has published 112 papers indexed by major citation databases. Among his many distinguished honors are National Outstanding Entrepreneur, National Outstanding Science and Tech-nology Worker, the Heliang Heli Science and Technol-ogy Innovation Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Piling Machinery Industry, the Outstand-ing Contribution Award for the Implementation of the Eleventh Five-Year National Science and Technology Plan, the Bauhinia Cup Outstanding Entrepreneur Award, and the Mao Yisheng Geotechnical Engineering Technology Innovation Award.
Guojian Long, born in 1945 in Xiangxiang, Hunan Province, graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Hunan University in 1967 with a bache-lor’s degree in Mechanical Manufacturing Technology and Equipment. He started working in July 1967 and worked as a technician and engineer at the Guiyang Electrical Engineering Bureau of the First Machinery Department. He was responsible for the manufacturing process and factory quality management of a 50 mm germanium single crystal furnace, a 100 ton thermoset-ting plastic hydraulic press, and a 125 g thermoplastic injection molding machine. After 1980, he worked as an engineer, senior engineer, and researcher at the Chang-sha Construction Machinery Research Institute under the Ministry of Construction. He also served as the deputy director, vice president, vice president, and chief engineer of the Concrete Machinery Research Laboratory, and participated in the establishment of Changsha Zoomlion Construction Machinery Industry Co., Ltd. and Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Co., Ltd. He served as the deputy general manager in charge of technology, representative of management, and chairman of the supervisory board at Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. He was responsible for the design and manufactur-ing of concrete pumps, marine concrete placing equip-ment, and tower concrete placing equipment. He was responsible for completing the national key scientific and technological research project of “key technologies of commercial concrete machinery” and the national key development project of “complete sets of commercial concrete equipment with an annual output of 200000 cubic meters,” and was awarded as exemplary individ-ual of the ninth five-year national key scientific and technological research plan (major technical equip-ment). “Emulsified asphalt slurry seal paver” won the Second Prize of the Ministry of Construction for scien-tific and technological progress. The industry standard of “QCT718-2004 Truck Mounted Concrete Pump” was prepared.
He served as the director of the Concrete Pump Appraisal Committee of the Machinery Bureau of the Ministry of Construction, the director of the Concrete Machinery Technical Committee of the National Con-struction Machinery and Equipment Standardization Technical Committee, and the vice chairman and chair-man of the Concrete Machinery Branch of the China Construction Machinery Society.
He hosted the writing of the “Seventh Five Year Plan” for the concrete machinery industry, the “Eighth Five Year Plan” for the concrete machinery industry, and the “Ninth Five Year Plan” for the concrete machinery industry.
