Professor Chandana Jayalath is currently serving as a professor at the Department of Quantity Surveying, University of Vocational Technology, Sri Lanka and Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Built Environment and Spatial Sciences, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University in Sri Lanka. His academic accolades include B.Sc Hons in Quantity Surveying and M.Sc in Project Management, University of Moratuwa, PG Diploma in Construction Management, Open University of Sri Lanka, PG Diploma in International Mediation, Westfield College, Queen Mary University of London and D.Sc, California Southern University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, UK and Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Sri Lanka, member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK. He is an accredited mediator. His major areas of research interests include forensic delay analysis, claims management, construction taxation and technical auditing in the field of construction, having published over 100 research papers in reputed international journals and conferences. Currently, he is a member of the Association of Researchers in Construction Management, ARCOM, UK. Being an author of several text books in the subject of Quantity Surveying, Prof. Chandana Jayalath has an administrative profile as a faculty Dean of the University of Vocational Technology in Sri Lanka while serving as the Chairman of the Construction Industry Development Authority, the apex government entity to regulate the construction industry of Sri Lanka.
